RESILIENCE AND QUALITY OF LIFE: DISCURSIVE REVERBERATIONS IN THE LEADERS' IMAGINATION
Abstract
The aim in this article is to identify and analyze the leader's perceptions about resilience and quality of life in the organizational subsystem. Therefore, it will try to answer the following questions: (i) Analyze the resilience reverberations in the leaders' imagination; (ii) Evaluate their conceptions about quality of life and work; and (iii) Identify the impact that this assertion will be able to reveal, as well as in which way the leaders will perceive these questions in their relations when they hold that position. In this perspective, the choice criterion for the method of this research is the own speech, since its scope comprises several disciplinary fields, among them: the Historical Materialism, Psychoanalysis and Linguistics. The discourse analysis contributes for constructing the knowledge and belief systems, since the persons are symbolic structures; then, the "˜speaker' uses the signs and their concatenations as a way to reach its interlocutor. In order to do so, it was decided to search for individuals in leadership position, in several types of organization and sector. It was opted for selecting a sample of five leaders. It could be noted that the leaderships present the resilience as a preponderant factor for the leadership process, being the leader able for having adaptation capacity to the environment and properly overcome adverse situations. It is also noted that the speech reveals certain contradiction and distancing between what is said about quality of life and leadership practice, reinforcing that the sense of work assumes a subjective perception.Downloads
