PERCEPÇÃO DE COMPETÊNCIAS DE LIDERANÇA: ESTUDO COMPARATIVO ENTRE INSTITUIÇÃO FINANCEIRA PÚBLICA E PRIVADA
Abstract
The survival of organizations depends on planning once results are achieved through the strategy and engagement of their employees. Institutions need leadership skills to achieve goals. This article describes the competencies that managers take into account as indispensable for leadership roles. A survey form, developed by Lopes (2009), has been applied. It analyzes the perception of 21 managers in the financial sector, located in Vale do Paraíba Paulista and North Coast. The data collected has been processed quantitatively through descriptive statistics and qualitatively through content analysis. The results highlight the existence of agreements and differences between managers of public and private companies. For the interviewees, these characteristics are essential for the exercise of leadership and the development of competencies. It has been observed that leadership development demands capacity for improvement, relationships, and commitment to goals.
