Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the process of management on farms producing lettuce and papaya from the Office of Rural Development (SRD) of Tupa and propose improvements in the face of problems encountered. The method used to conduct the study was the multiple case studies. As a result it was found that rural units surveyed had difficulties in effecting the management on their properties, and the fact the producers prioritize technical aspects at the expense of managerial aspects. Another point to be noted is the use of procedures precarious fleeing the standards for obtaining a quality product. Proposals for improvement outlined in this article, among which the change in the forms of transportation, and the expansion of marketing channels, the change in the relationship with employees , assist other rural businesses producing horticultural varied to improve the management of the business and product quality.
