PRODUCTIVE STRUCTURE OF MUNICIPALITIES OF PARANÁ BY TECHNOLOGICAL INTENSITY

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the productive structure of the municipalities of Paraná between 1998 and 2012, considering the different technological intensities of the industry. For this, with the data provided by RAIS about the formal employment of the state's municipalities, we measured the convergence industry, through estimation by panel data. Further, the industry was ranked in technological levels (using the methodology applied by FURTADO and CARVALHO, 2005) and the transformations were analyzed that occurred in the productive structure of the municipalities, as well as the productive specialization, via indicators of regional analysis. As a corollary, it was noticed a trend of convergence of Paraná industry among its municipalities, though still highly concentrated in some state points. As regards the expertise, predominance a productive structure is guided in low technology segments.
