Abstract

Cities are gaining new formats to become strategically digital to improve citizens' quality of life by requiring municipal objectives and strategies. The objective is to analyze the opinion of citizens in the digital services offered by municipal management in the strategic digital city context. The research methodology was characterized as exploratory and quantitative study with sampling not probabilistic for convenience with 172 citizens', whose collection was performed in person and by electronic means. The results show the conceptual lack of knowledge on the part of the citizens and the municipal management on strategic digital city projects. For support of results analysis, non-parametric statistical tests were applied: Qui Quadrado to ascertain statistical evidence of differences between the groups studied and the Spearman correlation coefficient to verify possible strong positive correlations between the variables studied. The conclusion of the study reiterates that 90% of respondents agree that there should be public spaces with free internet, and that 44% agree that there is a good telecommunication and access network structure. And for 64% of these it is possible, with the current technology, to stimulate the development of the city, reiterating the relevance of strategic and technological projects in the city.
