ANALYSIS OF COMPOSTING AS A SUSTAINABLE TECHNIQUE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF SOLID WASTE
Abstract
Urban solid waste is at the center of one of the main discussions on environmental quality. The composting technique, used in this article, is a sustainable strategy in the management of this waste; a technique that proposes the recycling of the organic matter discarded, in an ecologically and economically viable way, as it has as final result a product incapable of generating damages to the environment. The present study analyzes the management and operationalization through the return of goods and materials after their consumption, with the purpose of minimizing environmental damages, through the appropriate treatment of the tailings. The research is classified as: applied, from the point of view of nature, because it aims to generate practical knowledge leading to the solution of specific problems, involving socio-environmental and socioeconomic interests. Its objective is to present composting as an appropriate method for urban solid waste management and to evaluate the technique as a proposal for a reverse logistics channel in the generation of environmental, social and economic value. Besides, analyze the decomposition of the residues; to verify the advantages that the technique presents in the complementation of the biological recycling and use of the organic compound in agriculture; how to identify the sustainable qualitative and economic benefits of fertilizer production. As conclusion, it reveals the diversity of favorable alternatives with the use of the technique, to the environment. The experiment points to a lucrative possibility with the commercialization of organic fertilizer, intuits improvements in the reduction of urban waste in landfills, besides contributing to agriculture, allowing the implementation of a rational culture of environmental management.Downloads
