The study compares manufacturing methods in terms of sustainability. For this, two drilling processes were evaluated using the multicriteria method AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) and compared, indicating which one can be considered more sustainable. These manufacturing records were collected as a case study for the validation and comparison between the VIP analyzesys software and the proposed method that uses spreadsheets developed in the Windows Excel software. To carry out the sustainability assessment, the two proposed methods use the AHP multicriteria method. The evaluation results show that the VIP analysis software presents environmental, social and economic sustainability indices for each of the processes and the proposed model also makes a great contribution to the theoretical foundation, which is the interaction of the three dimensions of sustainability in a single qualitative index informing stakeholders which of the processes can be considered the most sustainable considering the three dimensions of environmental, social and economic sustainability. The proposed results validate the technique against the state of the art and show that the flow drilling process has a sustainability index of 0.58, while the conventional drilling process has an index of 0.42. The great scientific novelty is the interaction of the dimensions of sustainability, providing a single indicator of which process is the most sustainable, enabling great news for industrial managers and stakeholders in decision-making in choosing the best industrial process, being able to apply the model in any production process .
