TECHNOLOGICAL DEMANDS FOR ORANGE PRODUCTION CHAIN IN BRAZIL

Abstract

This study aims to present the main demands on technological innovation for orange production chain in Brazil, being part of a project ordered by the Confederação da Agricultura e Pecuária do Brasil– CNA – about 19 agroindustrial complexes in Brazil. This study has a systemic view applied to complex agricultural systems as its main theoretical approach, making possible the use of its concepts and methods across research teams focusing different agroindustrial complexes. The study methodology includes secondary data analysis for segmentation of agricultural productive systems, identification of limiting and critical factor to efficiency and quality of products and a survey about productive systems performance, conducted with experts in orange production chain in Brazil. The results are agendas of technological innovation for Brazilian orange production chain, aiming at technological transfer and technological research and development.
