Abstract

Research on the resilience of organizations in the face of crises reflects the systemic concerns generated by unexpected socioeconomic, environmental, regulatory, financial, and technological events. The crisis generated because of the Covid-19 pandemic leveraged the discussion of the topic organizational resilience in corporate agendas. This article establishes a review of the resilience literature in business and management, presenting the main concepts, capabilities, and characteristics of resilience in the organizational context for the construction of this complex concept. It also proposes a structured approach to organizational resilience for organizations based on dimensions that encompass the capabilities, resources and/or elements necessary to increase resilience in companies to deal with and survive crises.
